Gatagara is a pottery cooperative in southern Rwanda. You can visit them, view their work, even take a class. It was initially supported by the Belgian Development Cooperation agency, and is now home to dozens of Rwandan artisans. Below is a gallery of some of their work.
My Own Work In my spare time, I'm an avid potter. Pictures of my work coming soon! A lot of what I do is inspired by the places in Africa where I've lived and traveled. You'll see nods to the designs that Xhosa women in South Africa paint on their faces; echoes of Zulu beer pots; and patterns inspired by west African cloths.
